Google AdWords or SEO? Or Both?

By February 17, 2016SEO Tips, Uncategorized

As a business owner you have many factors to consider when marketing your site, including whether to use Google AdWords or SEO.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO): The process of improving a websites rankings and visibility in unpaid searches. You can naturally boost your URL to be seen as the most trustworthy and authoritative in relation to certain keyword search terms.

Google Adwords can offer great short term results, your site can instantly be seen on the ads section to certain consumers.

At first glance, this seems like a great strategy to bring web traffic and possibly customers.

But it’s not.

Here are a couple downsides that may make you think otherwise:

  1. Short Term Results: The minute you stop putting money into Google Adwords, is the minute that you lose all your web traffic. If you are not organically ranked on Google, your business can be trapped into an investment that over time is unreliable. Imagine a competitor investing into Google Adwords at a higher level, and all of sudden you lose a huge chunk of your sales. The worst thing possible is to make Google Adwords your main source of online advertising.
  2. Google Adwords NO effect on SEO: You may be of the believe that investing into Google Adwords effects you organic SEO. The reality is that is not the case at all.  The amount you invest in SEO does not effect your organic traffic at all, it is a completely different service and will not help you achieve SEO goals.
  3. Costly: Google Adwords can be a costly investment to make an impact on your business. SEO can not only be a cheaper solution but for longitude. Investing in Adwords can cost you a bundle and then more money to keep up the investment and increase sales.

To make a wise strategic decision, you must have a long term mindset.

Adwords can help your business succeed but never as the only marketing option.

The question is no longer whether to use Google AdWords or SEO. The best way to maximize your revenue is to invest in SEO and Google Adwords over the long haul.
